Very good food. Was slammed on a Friday night and there was a 40 min wait for orders. I figure that's a good thing. They were straight up on how long the wait would be. It was worth it. Nothing fancy about the inside. Soda fountain, no alcohol. Pizza by the slice available.
My first time at Dario’s and it was Amazing! Dario himself was here greeting customers and cooking the food himself! I ordered pizza and a calzone and they bother were delicious! I definitely will be coming back and recommending Dario’s to everyone for authentic Italian pizza and calzones!
I love visiting Dario’s Pizza & Calzones whenever I visit Lubbock. Their Calzones are just delicious. I also am happy to see Dario; his hospitality is wonderful. I know him since I was a student at TTU (12 years back) and he is always very friendly.
I was thinking I was paying extra for "Homemade Ranch" but nope. It's Ken's Steakhouse Ranch. At least some places like One Guy from Italy provides Homemade ranch.
I've been eating Dario's cooking for years, long before he had his own store. He's always been a great guy making great food. His ability to remember people is amazing. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I could eat calzones for breakfast lunch and dinner for life with no complaints. Still making great food after all these years... Never change Dario, you've got it down perfect!
Tried this place for the first time tonight. As soon as I opened the door, Dario called out to me (mind you, I’d never been there before and don’t know him). Said he just finished pulling my pizza out of the oven. It was a very warm welcome! The rest of the staff were very friendly as well. It was easy to order over the phone, easy to pick up and pay for. The pizza itself was delicious! The crust was a bit too big for the box which shows that these aren’t cookie cutter dough slabs but dough made by hand and freshly prepared. To say I was impressed was an understatement. Will DEFINITELY be coming back here again!
Updated review 5.27.23 - Dario cooks from his heart and is one of the hardest working men I know. Freshly made calzones and delivered to the table by the man himself!!! A piece of heaven!! Best calzones ever! Crust was flaky, not tough. Just the right amount of sauce, meat and cheese. Thank you Dario!!
Dario makes the best pizzas and calzones around! The crust is excellent and the items are baked to perfection. Green olives (a rarity in Lubbock) are one of our favorite toppings. The sauce is rich and flavorful; I always ask for extra. Dario is very friendly and goes out of his way to make sure his customers are satisfied. I only wish they offered fresh mushrooms.
